Fast and Affordable Hair Loss Solutions – Assess Your Choices

Alopecia - better known as hair loss - is a problem for both men and women. Although more common among males, even a female may suffer from this, due to the fact that both men and women produce androgens - or male hormones - which are a vital component to balding. Before we go into a deeper explanation of the concept of balding, be aware that if you are suffering from this condition, there are fast and affordable hair loss solutions out in the market. No need to panic, and no need to let your new condition get you down!

Currently the most popular hair loss solutions are: using chemical treatments such as Propecia and Rogaine, or calling for the services of hair transplant specialists. There are different means of getting treatment for alopecia, and it depends on your budget which options you would be willing to consider.

Chemical treatments are a common remedy. All humans secrete androgen, but androgen combined with age triggers a genetic condition in some people, which leads to hair loss. But in many cases, alopecia patients also secrete an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase in high levels. This enzyme converts testosterone - a type of androgen - in the bloodstream into dihydrotestosterone or DHT. Propecia (generic name: finasteride) limits the activity of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, dramatically slowing down the process of hair loss.

While Propecia may slow down the thinning of hair, so much that it seems to stop, as a hair-stimulation product, Rogaine promotes hair growth. Rogaine is a lifelong commitment, however: it must be used religiously in order to produce results.

Hair transplants are another option. Accredited doctors all over the world specialize in hair restoration and hair replacement. It may be shocking to hear for a new alopecia patient, but medical research has proven that grafting another part of one's skin into the scalp - skin from a chest that continues to produce hair, for example - makes hair grow back on one's head!

There are different kinds of alopecia as well, and the proper treatment option may rely on the kind of alopecia you have. Some kinds of alopecia are: alopecia areata, where only patches of the scalp go bald; diffuse alopecias, or hair thinning faster in some areas of the scalp, while slower in others; triangular alopecia, or hair loss in a triangular pattern; alopecia universalis, where the entire body may suffer hair loss; and various "toxic" alopecias.

Hair loss solutions are widely available, so there's no need to feel like the world is ending once you find hairs on your pillow, or in the drain. You may be losing your hair, but you don't have to lose your head as well!
